1999 Jeep Wrangler TJ We purchased this jeep new from Huntington Beach Jeep in 2000. It now has just over 48,000 miles on it and has been on numerous off road
trips from the rock trails of the San Bernardino Mountains and the Panamint Mountains of Death Valley to the sandy desert trails of Anza Borrego, Death Valley and the Mojave Desert. So far, it has never let us down and
we have always achieved our objective. The jeep came stock with 3.56 gears, Dana 44 rear axle with Dana trac-loc differential (I like this differential, by the way, even though some of the hard core folks
think they can't live without a locker). It is powered by the awesome 4.0L in-line 6 - This engine is a true stump puller, cranking out 85% of it's maximum torque at idle! Transmission is the stock 5 speed. Only
modifications made to the engine are the K&N filter and borla exhaust. The Jeep Wrangler TJ is a good performer right off the lot, but we did make a few modifications to better suit the terrain we would
be traveling over. Here's a list of modifications and additions that have been made:
- Rubicon Express 3" superflex lift.
- Rubicon Express rear drive shaft slip yolk eliminator.
- R.E. CV jointed drive shaft
- Chrome Moly tie rod
- Deuchtech shock absorbers
- Borla exhaust
- Warn 8000i winch
- Warn winch accessory kit
- Pull-Pal winch anchor
- Hi-lift jack
- Garvin rack
- Garvin mounting accessories for Pull-pal and Hi-lift
- 33X12.50 BFG Mud Terrain tires
- Quick Air air compressor
- Tow hooks
- Curry Enterprises bumpers and spare tire mount
- Garmin GPS
- Kenwood TMD700A Dual Band ham radio
- K&N Filter (of course)
- Optima deep cycle battery (yellow top)
- Front anti-sway bar quick disconnects.
- Probably some I can't think of right now.
This jeep just plain rocks. I'll have more pictures of this jeep here soon. Of course there will be more adventures, as well! |
